An update to this post! Lately, my older daughter has been reading Trixie Belden books and enjoying them. Random House has republished the first 16 in the series, complete with the original illustrations.

Wow! I've sometimes thought I'm the only person who knows about Trixie Belden. I'm envious you saved your books - I lost mine in one of our many moves. I'm so glad your daughter is enjoying them. I may have to go check out that republished set :)
