Today's Update
Well, after much thought, I decided that I miss the green. I'm going to stop at the paint store today and pick up some chartreuse paint for the walls, and go for puce on the cabinet doors. What do you think? It'll set off the white fridge well, but I may need to choose a more complementary color for the range...any tips? Maybe fuschia?

Don't forget that wonderful Turquoise color of the late 50's!
As a kid my favorite color was heliotrope, mostly because the word sounded funny. Perhaps you can use it for the cabinet handles and pulls.

Ha. April Fool! You almost got me.
Just mix up a big batch of pea soup and dribble it tastefully over the cabinet doors. When it's dried on, mount the doors. Ta-daah! Instant op-art. And yes, some fuschia yogurt (cherry?) splashed here and there for an accent color would be just delightful, I'm sure. kcn
